Where Will the Matches for the Upcoming Asia Cup 2023 be Played in Pakistan?
PCB's Second Hybrid Model Likely to be Accepted by ACC Members

In a significant development, the proposed second hybrid model by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 is expected to receive approval from the member boards of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Reliable sources have revealed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sri Lanka Cricket, and Bangladesh Cricket Board have all decided to proceed with PCB's proposal.

The 50-over tournament is scheduled to take place in the first half of September, tentatively from September 1st to 19th. Lahore has been chosen as the venue for four matches in Pakistan, while the remaining nine matches will be played either in the UAE or Sri Lanka.

Mr. Jayasha, the president of the Asian Cricket Council, is likely to meet the members in the UAE soon to finalize the dates and venue. Initially, there was a deadlock between the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding hosting the Asia Cup in Pakistan due to the strained political relations between the two countries. BCCI had declined to travel to the neighboring nation, citing security concerns for the players and staff.

Regarding Pakistan Cricket Board's stance on the World Cup 2023, they remain firm in their decision to play their matches at venues other than India, similar to the hybrid model followed for the Asia Cup.
